Artificial grass has many advantages. Artificial grass requires minimal maintenance, stays green all year round and is resistant to all weather conditions. In addition, our artificial grass has a long life with at least an 8-year guarantee and you do not have to use water to water artificial grass. Artificial grass can offer a solution against ants. It is also ideal for children because you can place a swimming pool on it in the summer and a trampoline is no problem either.
While it’s true that artificial grass is made from plastic, the claim that it is bad for the environment doesn’t hold up. Maintaining a natural lawn equally full and beautiful as our artificial grass products requires thousands of liters of water and a lot of fertilizer which has a negative impact on the quality of your soil. Additionally, you will never have to mow or cut your artificial lawn, saving gas for lawnmowers.
Absolutely not. All our products are produced with safety in mind. We are parents ourselves and make sure that our products pose no harm to the health of your children or pets. Even better, if you plan to build a playground for children, consider installing shock pads below your layer of artificial grass. This increases the safe fall height to 3 meters.
While it is true that the initial costs of an artificial grass lawn can be higher than for a regular lawn, the ongoing costs are significantly cheaper. Artificial grass only requires occasional rinsing with water and the removal of leaves with a rake. The lawn will stay beautiful for many years, while regular grass needs constant watering, fertilizing plus time to cut the lawn and remove weeds. Over its entire life span, artificial grass is incredibly cost efficient and sustainable. Besides, Signature Turf has selected grass products that combine high quality and a good look with an attractive price.
Installing artificial grass is initially more expensive than laying natural grass. However, there are no maintenance costs. In addition, artificial turf does not change colour with the seasons and does not attract birds or insects. Because artificial turf requires no maintenance, it is also less interesting if you like gardening. Although artificial grass offers many advantages in an ornamental garden, you can still enjoy gardening but the heavy work of mowing the lawn, scarifying etc. is no longer necessary.
It may happen that the artificial grass becomes static. You may notice this, for example, in your clothes being attracted to the grass. By lightly spraying the lawn with water, the static charge disappears.
Signature Turf specially developed our grasses to be anti-static
You can lay your artificial turf yourself. Especially if you are handy and like working in the garden, laying artificial grass is easy to do yourself. In general, the larger the garden, the more difficult it is to lay the turf. This is because the rolls on which the artificial grass is delivered are up to 4 metres wide and if the garden is wider, the lawn is made up of several strips. A smaller garden can often be laid from one roll. Ask us for installation instructions.
Sure you can. Signature Turf artificial grass is extremely water-permeable, it drains up to 200% more than any other grass. Signature Turf artificial grass will not flood or discolor by swimming pool water (with chlorine). Artificial grass is even extremely suitable around a swimming pool because you will never again have a soggy lawn and mud or grass blades in the swimming pool. It is also possible to place an inflatable pool on an artificial grass lawn. When you clean up the pool, you can brush the area where the pool has been standing with a hard broom.
Artificial grass can be laid in almost every garden and on every balcony or roof terrace. Sometimes, however, it is necessary to prepare the subsoil. The soil must be stable and permeable. If this is not yet the case, it is often necessary to dig up the garden a little and lay a new underlay. If you have black soil in the garden, it is better to replace it with stabilized soil. If you lay artificial grass on tiles or concrete, it is important to ensure good drainage. It is possible to use a drainpanel or shockpad over the tiles for extra cushioning. It is always wise to use inlay sand. By sprinkling artificial turf with specially developed silica sand, you make the turf heavier so it will stay firmly in place and will not bend or slide. In addition, the sand ensures that the fibres remain upright. Some artificial grasses have a crimped fibre between the blades. This so-called moss thread makes the grass stand upright, so that the sand does not necessarily have to be filled in. However, a layer of sprinkled sand does give the grass an extra natural look.
Laying artificial grass on a balcony is relatively easy because the grass mat can usually be laid from a single roll. Moreover, the surface is firm and stable. You should, however, ensure good drainage and check whether the construction can bear the surface.
Artificial grass is very friendly in terms of maintenance. The most important thing you need to do to keep the artificial grass in good condition is to keep the lawn clean. Remove leaves and branches from the lawn. This will prevent weeds from sprouting in the lawn. It is best to sweep the lawn with a broom with a hard brush. Did one of your pets have an accident on the lawn? Remove faeces and rinse the spot with lukewarm water. There are also various biodegradable products available to combat the smell of urine.
Artificial grass and dogs are no problem, even if you have other pets. Feces and urine of pets are not harmful for artificial grass. It is, however, very hygienic to remove faeces and to rinse off the spot where your pet has done its business with lukewarm water. Should you be bothered by the smell of urine in the garden, you can use various biodegradable products.
Signature Turf artificial grass is very sturdy and wear-resistant. Most of our products are designed for garden and landscaping. But we also offer a collection of grasses that are extremely suitable for sports fields and playgrounds.
